Governmental Affairs

Mo North City manager 300x144 Governmental AffairsThe Home Builders Association’s governmental affairs representatives work at the local, state and national levels to support pro-housing candidates and initiatives to keep the housing industry strong. In addition, they support Build PAC, the political action committee that gives members the opportunity to contribute to HBA backed election efforts at all levels including locally where members do business.

HBA members also benefit from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) government services and programs that help defend affordable housing initiatives on Capitol Hill, in our states, and in the local communities.

2012 Legislative Agendas Established for Kansas and Missouri

With Kansas and Missouri state legislators returning to work in January, the HBA Government Affairs Committee approved their 2012 legislative agendas.  The Government Affairs Committee is comprised of 17 members and chaired by Mike Brown, Brown Midwest.  Charged with recommending policy positions and addressing government affairs issues facing the home building industry, the committee meets monthly during the legislative session.trans Governmental Affairs

“As the home building industry awakes from the slumber in the housing market, we need our government officials to know exactly where we stand on important issues,” said Brown.  “If you aren’t at the table, you’re on the menu, and this committee will definitely be at the table on the issues impacting our livelihood.”
