Innovative Products Pavilion Spotlights Latest Gadgets, Technology for the Home
It’s not quite like having a robot maid, but who needs that when you can cook Thanksgiving dinner in under an hour? Or how about having a lifetime warranty on your home against mold, termites and rot? Maybe you want to update your countertops with natural granite or stone and save money at the same time? These ideas may seem from out of the future but they will on display in real life at the HOME SHOW – Fall Edition at Bartle Hall Oct. 19-21 at the Innovative Products Pavilion.
The concept of the Innovative Products Pavilion is simple: showcase the next-generation of new-home technologies, ideas and designs that may become common features in new-homes and remodeling projects in the future. This is the opportunity to see up close and personal the new ideas designed to make home living more comfortable and enjoyable.
Among the biggest innovations in appliances is the emergence of speed-cooking. Distributed by Factory Direct Appliance, the TurboChef Speedcook Oven contains two ovens in one. An upper open utilizes a patented Airspeed Technology to cook food 15 times faster while a lower oven acts as a convection, proofing and warming oven. From steamed asparagus in 45 seconds to a plump 12-pound turkey in 42 minutes, the TurboChef oven is designed to give homeowners the freedom to be the cook they want.
Energy efficiency and green building are hot topics for many new home innovations. The Noritz 751 tankless water heater saves energy as well as space while maximizing power, using the new Turbo-Flow feature that can supply endless hot water for up to four showers at once. Distributed by One Hour Shower, the tankless water heater also qualifies homeowners for a $300 energy-efficiency tax credit. Central States BLUWOOD provides a trademarked wood coating product guaranteed to protect against mold, insects and rot. BLUWOOD is listed in the GreenSpec Directory and is approved for use in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) structures.
Some of the most innovative new products are simply breakthrough redesigns of materials most of us take for granted, such as the TruScene high transparency insect screen from Renewal by Andersen. TruScene insect screens are nearly invisible, utilizing a micro-fine stainless steel mesh designed to allow more light and superior ventilation into a home while keeping even the smallest insects out. TruScene screens offer homeowners a chance to take advantage of their windows in a whole new way.
Also in the area of building products, Design Products Distributing is showcasing the Soterra line of natural stone surfacing products. Soterra is an integrated system of natural granite and marble products designed for affordability and ease of installation, with products designed for countertop overlays, shower walls, fireplaces and wainscoting.
The HOME SHOW – Fall Edition is Kansas City’s exclusive fall home products event and all of this products and more will be highlighted in the Innovative Products Pavilion at the show. The show is open at Bartle Hall Oct. 19-21. For more information, visit the event online at www.kchomeshow.com.
