Silent
Auction, Poker Tourney to Raise Donations
for
Franklin
County Home Builders Scholarship Fund
All the cards will be
on the table Saturday, April 22 at the
Ottawa Country Club when the Franklin
County Chapter of the Home Builders Association
of Greater Kansas City hosts the Texas
Hold ’em Poker Tournament and Silent
Auction benefiting the Franklin County
Home Builders Scholarship Fund.
Items up
for bid during the silent auction include
opportunities to serve as a bat
boy and throw out the first pitch at
a Kansas City T-Bones baseball game,
two tickets to the NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series qualifying at Kansas Speedway,
a football signed by members of the
2004
Kansas City Chiefs and a baseball autographed
by George Brett, Bret Saberhagen and
other members of the Kansas City Royals
alumni.
First prize in the Texas
Hold ’em
Poker Tournament is a 42-inch plasma
screen television. Other prizes include
a 20-inch flat screen television with
DVD player, a digital home and audio
entertainment system, a dual handset
cordless telephone with answering machine
and much more.
The silent auction begins
at 5 p.m. with the poker tournament
beginning at
5:45 p.m. Appetizers and a cash bar
will be available to players and auction
bidders.
The tournament entry fee is $50 with
proceeds supporting the Franklin County
Home Builders Scholarship fund, which
provides educational grants to aspiring
students planning to enter the residential
construction industry.
The poker tournament
is limited to the first 80 players.
