Home Builders Association
of Greater Kansas City Wins Association
Award of Excellence
The Home Builders Association
of Greater Kansas City (HBA) recently
received an Award of Excellence from the
Executive Officers Council of the National
Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for
Best Web Site for Consumers. The awards
were presented in Savannah, Ga., at the
annual Executive Officers Council Seminar.
The council's membership
consists of the staff executives who manage
the more than 800 state and local home
builders associations that comprise the
NAHB.
"Winning an Award of
Excellence is truly a great honor,"
said Cathy Vaughn, president of the Executive
Officers Council. "These awards recognize
outstanding effort, commitment and achievement."
The HBA Web site, located
at www.kchba.org, has an area of its Web
site devoted exclusively for local consumers.
The Consumer Connection provides a large
collection of consumer articles to help
both new and existing homeowners get the
most out of their home. The Web site also
includes information on searching for
a new home and links to Web sites displaying
available new homes. Consumers can also
search the listing of HBA members for
builders, remodelers, suppliers and service
providers.
The HBA Web site will be added to the
Executive Officers Council's Idea Loan
File as a model for other home builder
associations across the country.
"I am very proud of
the accomplishments of our association
and the hard work of our staff,"
said Tim Underwood, executive vice president
for the HBA. "To receive an Association
Award of Excellence and be recognized
by one's peers is truly the ultimate compliment."
The Home Builders Association
(HBA) of Greater Kansas City is the voice
of the housing industry and the source
for housing information. Comprising more
than 1,000 member companies, the HBA represents
an industry that contributes more than
2.5 billion dollars to the Kansas City
economy and supports more than 36,000
jobs in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan
area.
