Online Parade Simplifies New-Home Shopping

With 638 new homes scattered across metro Kansas City to choose from, the 2007 Parade of Homes highlights a wide assortment of selections designed to fit your style and budget. But with so many homes to see, where do new-home buyers start?

The event’s official Web site at www.kcparadeofhomes.com is an invaluable resource when it comes to quickly identifying and locating homes to see. Using the site’s dynamic search engine, consumers can easily find homes based on criteria such as price, location, number of bedrooms and housing style. Buyers can even pinpoint specific neighborhoods or home builders they want to learn more about.

Each home on the parade has detailed drawings of the exterior and floorplan, information on bedrooms and baths, school district and price along with driving directions and a link to Google Maps to help consumers find each home.

The Parade of Homes Web site also allows visitors to send an e-mail to a friend or family member with the link to a specific home or a list of homes on the parade. With hundreds of home builders to choose from, the site contains links to company Web sites to help shoppers learn more about the companies and the products and amenities featured in their homes along with other information including virtual tours.

On the evening of Sept. 19, visitors to the site can be among the first to learn the winners of the Pick of the Parade and Distinctive Plan & Design Awards when they are announced online with photos of each of the winning homes.

The Parade of Homes Web site is also fully integrated with the Web site of the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City, one of the most popular local online destinations for new-home information with more than 300,000 visitors using the Web site annually. The HBA Web site includes links to information on buying and building a new home, the HBA’s consumer events and information on more than 1,000 local companies specializing in home-building, remodeling and other home-related products and services.
