HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show Celebrate 60 Years of Tradition
Spectacular Gardens, Paul James Among Show’s Top Highlights

This year HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show will feature 11 spectacular one-of-a-kind garden display showcasing the talents of the area's top landscape companies and organizations.

Kansas City’s largest home and garden event celebrates its 60th anniversary with style in March featuring a colorful burst of spring inspirations, an array of floral and garden advice from the experts and a full lineup of entertainment and activities for the entire family. The Greater Kansas City HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show returns to Bartle Hall March 27-30, and this year’s anniversary edition promises to be one of the largest and most fabulous shows in the event’s storied history.

Heading the attractions at the show are 11 spectacular one-of-a-kind garden displays showcasing the talents of the area’s premiere landscape companies and organizations. This year’s gardens are inspired by the theme “Outdoor Celebration.” The gardens will feature creative interpretations of Kansas City’s favorite outdoor scenes and activities from the ball field to the back-yard party designed to spark ideas for your own home and garden.

From bedding plants to unique varieties of orchids and tropicals, the Plant Sale hosted by Bird’s Botanicals and Dutch Touch Perennialswill have plants ready for you to take home and plant in your own garden!

The HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show is also a destination to get answers to tough questions from an assortment of  local and national experts. Returning to the show by popular demand are the renowned Paul James, host of HGTV’s Gardening by the Yard, and Don Engebretson, “The Renegade Gardner.” Engebretson will be appearing all four days at the show while James will make exclusive appearances on stage Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to the spectacular garden displays and appearances by James and Engebretson, visitors to the show can complete their spring planting with bedding plants and unique varieties of orchids and tropicals at the Plant Sale hosted by Bird’s Botanicals and Dutch Touch Perennials. The Flower, Lawn & Garden Show is produced by the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City in association with Kansas City, Mo., Parks & Recreation Department. Visitors to the show have the opportunity to discover information about the city’s vibrant network of parks and boulevards and learn about the department’s extensive athletic programs, community centers, museums and attractions.

“The Big Show” features more than 650 exhibitors covering eight football fields of the latest products and services for the home and garden, including spotlights on home remodeling and green living.

While the latest in new home products is a tradition of the HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show, so is fun for the whole family. Fun and games at this year’s show music, magic and storytelling performances inside the Kid’s Corner, pet adoptions sponsored by Wayside Waifs at the Pet Products Showcase and high-flying acrobatics from a performing stunt dog team.

The HOME SHOW and Flower, Lawn & Garden Show has been part of Kansas City since 1948 and remains the largest home and garden event in the area. “The Big Show” has been listed by USA Today as one of the ten great places to get the jump on spring.
