2007 Distinctive Plan & Design Awards

On September 15-16, the Home Builders Association played host to building and design professionals from across the country in town to judge the best in Kansas City new home construction and design. Over 70 experts spent the weekend touring, critiquing and grading the homes entered in this year’s Pick of the Parade and Distinctive Plan & Design contests and on September 19th the winners are announced!

There are nearly 150 homes competing in each of the two contests. Each entry was judged on a specific set of building or design criteria developed and refined by a committee of industry professionals. These contests are highly competitive among the builders, a result you see in each of the winning homes.

The Distinctive Plan & Design contest focuses on interior design and architecture elements; judging is based on criteria such as floor plan layout, lighting, and use of space within the home. Homes entered in this contest are complete with fabulous interior design and furnishings. This year’s contest has homes in 23 price categories, with homes competing for the First Place and Second Place trophies.

Plan to visit these outstanding, award winning homes during the Parade of Homes. This year's winners will be announced online following the HBA Fall Awards Ceremony on the evening of Sept. 19.
