SPRING HOMES TOUR
2008 American Dream Awards
The sod was carefully laid, the banisters meticulously dusted and the doors to some of the city’s best homes were open for critique and review during judging of the Spring Homes Tour American Dream Awards Contest.
The American Dream Awards recognize superior construction techniques and distinctive new-home architecture and design. Each entry on the Spring Homes Tour is eligible to compete for an American Dream Award, with categories determined by value and housing style. The American Dream Awards are the most prestigious honor that local new-home builders can receive.
A team of 40 industry professionals traveled to Kansas City from across the country to judge award entries May 2-3. Homes were evaluated based on building criteria including exterior and interior framing, materials and overall atmosphere of the home. Entries were divided into categories based on the price of the home. The categories ranged from the mid $100,000s to $2 million with a Grand Award and First Runner-Up trophy presented in each category.
The winners of the American Dream Award winners will be available online at www.kcspringhomestour.com on May 8th and profiled in the Kansas City Star’s Sunday Home and other local newspapers the weekend of May 10th.
