KC Water Services Proposes Regulatory Changes Effective May 1, 2015

The KC Water Services Department is hosting a briefing on Wednesday, March 11 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Brush Creek Conference Room (4800 E. 63rd St., KCMO, 2nd floor) to discuss regulatory changes that take effect on May 1, 2015.  The proposed changes touch a wide range of topics, including:  1) water meters installed on new construction projects; 2) water retainers; 3) repairs on existing water service lines and water meters; 4) water meter locations and fees; 5) curb stop/curb box requirements; 6) fire hydrant flow test; 7) backflow preventers and building shut off valves; 8) removal and breakdown of backflow vaults; and 9) requirements for cutting in a service line tee for water service lines over 1”.  All KCHBA members are invited and encouraged to attend this meeting.  For additional information, please contact Beatriz Ibarra at bibarra@kchba.orgor (816) 773-2237.
